Upon receipt of a report about a fire and accident in the fireworks warehouse in Gara Elin Pelin, the Regional Inspectorate for Environment and Water - Sofia (RIEW - Sofia) immediately dispatched a team to the site.

The aim of the team was to carry out a detailed inspection of the area and assess the impact of the accident on the environment. In order to ensure a quick and accurate assessment of the situation, a mobile laboratory will be deployed on site to measure air quality indicators. The results of the analyses will be made available to the public as soon as they are received.
