Minister of Environment and Water Manol Genov met with the Ambassador of the Czech Republic in Sofia His Excellency Miroslav Toman.

The focus of the meeting was the partnership between the two countries in various fields. Minister Genov presented to the Ambassador the priorities pursued by his ministry in the field of environment and climate – policies that lead to improving the well-being and quality of life of the population, policies to increase access to drinking water, to improve the water supply infrastructure, to develop the circular economy, as well as to improve the quality of ambient air, and achieve climate neutrality.

During the meeting, the Minister expressed his gratitude to Ambassador Toman for the active support for Bulgaria’s full membership in the Schengen area, for our accession to the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) and, last but not least, our deep appreciation for the assistance that the Czech Republic provided in combating the huge fires in our country last summer.

In conclusion, Minister Manol Genov noted the excellent bilateral relations between Bulgaria and the Czech Republic, emphasizing the historical traditions in this direction.
