During the meeting, issues related to the exchange of experience in the field of water resources management - irrigation, hydromelioration, dealing with drought and the consequences of climate change, were discussed.
Bulgaria will provide the Moldovan region with 10000 oak saplings for afforestation of the area affected by fires, announced Minister Manol Genov during the meeting. He expressed readiness by the Ministry of Environment and Water to provide expert assistance in the preparation of projects financed by the European Union, as well as support for the implementation of various other projects that will support the development of the Taraclia Region in Moldova.
The Taraclia Region (Moldovan: Raionul Taraclia) is an administrative-territorial unit in the Republic of Moldova and is the center of Bulgarians in Moldova, where over 65% of the population are ethnic Bulgarians. This is the only region of modern Moldova, where the non-Moldovan population predominates. Since 2004 the Bulgarian-Moldovan Taraclia State University has been operating in the region.
