Minister Sandov held a meeting for partnership with the student councils

The participation of students in initiatives and campaigns with a focus on the environment and the adaptation to climate change was discussed by the Minister of Environment and Water Borislav Sandov with the Chairman of the National Representation of the Student Councils Daniel Parushev and representatives of the organization at a meeting.

 

The opportunities for joint initiatives to present the efforts by the Ministry of Environment and Water to protect the environment and reduce harmful emissions were discussed. The Minister spoke with the students about the introduction of low-emission zones in Sofia and the inclusion of the Studentski Grad (Student City) neighborhood in such a zone, as well as the need to build two buffer parking lots in the area. The students highlighted the need to repatriate out-of-motion cars located in the area, as well as to maintain a clean urban environment. Borislav Sandov informed them that the installation of vending machines for waste is also planned for Studentski Grad.

 

Daniel Parushev briefed the Minister on the problems of e-learning and asked for support for the return of students to universities. Internship program opportunities for young people to get acquainted with the activities of the Ministry of Environment and Water were also discussed. At the end of the meeting, the two parties agreed to organize a seminar on key environmental policies and climate change.

 

Minister Sandov assured the students that he is their partner on issues within the competence of the Ministry of Environment and Water, and will hold talks with other responsible institutions in search of solutions for all shared problems.
