As an honorary guest at the vineyard pruning celebrations in the Plovdiv village of Brestovitsa, the Minister of Environment and Water Manol Genov awarded the first prize in the competition for the best homemade wine in the “White Wine” category. The prize, accompanied by a gift - a cauldron for producing the Drink of the Gods, was received by the local producer Georgi Simeonov. Prior to that, Minister Genov joined the procession that passed through the entire village and stopped at the vineyard, where a solemn water blessing for health and fertility was performed.

Among the official guests of the event were the Minister of Agriculture and Food Georgi Tahov, the Regional Governor of Plovdiv Prof. Dr. Hristina Yancheva, the Mayor of the village of Brestovitsa Maria Manolova, the Mayor of the Rhodope Municipality Pavel Mihaylov, mayors of smaller settlements, deputy mayors, municipal councilors and others.

For the festive pruning of the vineyards on Trifon Zarezan, Minister Manol Genov was also in the village of Brestnik, Rhodope Municipality, on invitation by the Mayor Krastyu Chunchukov. During the symbolic first pruning of the vines, he expressed wishes for a healthy and blessed year, abundant fruit, and full barrels for the winegrowers.
