Refurbishment of Chernavoda NPP Unit 1 and extension of intermeddiate dry spent fuel storage with MACSTOR-400 modules

Today, 12 August 2024, in connection with a transboundary Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) procedure, the Ministry of Environment and Water (MoEW) of Bulgaria provides public access to the EIA report for the project "Rehabilitation of Unit 1 of Cherna Voda NPP and Expansion of Intermediate Dry Spent Fuel Storage with MACSTORE - 400 Modules", incl. Biodiversity Annex and Non-technical Summary, submitted by letter No. DGEICPSC/126152 from 5 th August 2024 of the Minister of Environment, Water and Forestry of Romania (ref. No 99-00-99 from 6th August 2024 of he MoEW)
The public debate on the EIA report for the project "Rehabilitation of Unit 1 of the Cherna Voda NPP and Expansion of the Intermediate Dry Spent Fuel Storage Facility with MACSTORE - 400 Modules" in Romania will take place on 5th September 2024, starting at 14.00, at Casa de Cultura Cernavoda in Cernavoda town, 11th Ovidiu Street, Romania.
The public debate will be held in hybrid format (both in person and using Microsoft Teams application). In order to log in the public debate online the interested public needs to express the intent to participate by sending a message to the following e-mail address: Dezbatere.RTH.DICA@nuclearelectrica.ro by 17.00 p.m. on 3rd September 2024.
