RIEW-Smolyan experts received a new signal about a bear cub located near the town of Chepelare (under the main road Smolyan - Chepelare - Plovdiv) and carried an on-site inspection. The inspection established that the cub had spent more than two hours alone in proximity to the main road. A team was immediately formed to search the area. No traces of the mother were found. The bear cub was captured without anesthesia.

The Ministry of Environment and Water has contacted the Four Paws Foundation and the cub is already on its way to the Dancing Bear Park in the village of Belitsa, where it will be accommodated and provided with the necessary care.
