Deputy Minister Reneta Koleva presented the awards by the Ministry of Environment and Water to nine schools from the country for the prize-winning ranking of their projects in the 16th National Student Competition "Ambassadors of Health", organized by the Ministry of Health. In addition to diplomas, the winners from the first age group also received a magnetic map of Bulgaria, and those from the second and third age groups - a microscope. The award ceremonu for the finalists in this year's competition took place in the building of the Bulgarian Red Cross, Sofia Hall.

"The opportunity to be a partner of the ‘Ambassadors of Health’ competition is a truly pleasant commitment for the team of the Ministry of Environment and Water. We are happy that so many schools from all over the country participate in the competition. Your projects show high practical results aimed at preventing health risks." Thus, Deputy Minister Koleva addressed those present at the ceremony, thanking the teachers for their inspiration to educate children as ambassadors of the future, as well as the students for their enthusiasm and energy in developing the wonderful projects for the competition.

“We welcome and support every effort to protect nature. That is why we highly appreciate the work you have done. In all the projects we evaluated, we saw the idea that when we take care of our health and have a responsibility towards the environment, we actually improve the lives of everyone else. I am excited that I have the pleasure of presenting an award to my first school - the Ninth Primary School “Veselin Hanchev” from Stara Zagora, where I received my first knowledge, inspiration and belief that with drive and hard work one can make one’s dreams come true”, frankly shared Reneta Koleva.

A total of 44 projects by students from grades 1st to 12th from across the country were ranked in this year’s edition of the National Student Competition “Ambassadors of Health”. The Ministry of Health organizes the competition within the framework of the National Program for the Prevention of Chronic Non-Communicable Diseases 2021-2025, in partnership with the Ministry of Environment and Water, the Ministry of Education and Science, the Ministry of Culture, the Ministry of Youth and Sports, the State Agency for Child Protection, the World Health Organization Office for Bulgaria, the Bulgarian Youth Red Cross, and the National Center for Public Health and Analyses.
