In fulfillment of its obligations to exercise control over the activities of the organizations for packaging waste recovery, a MOEW expert committee carried out an inspection of the audit reports that the four operating organizations submit in proof of delivering on their objectives - ECOPACK BULGARIA AD, BULECOPACK AD, ECO PARTNERS BULGARIA AD, ECOBULPACK BULGARIA AD.

The audit established two cases of non-compliances in the activity of one of the organizations - non-compliance with the requirements of the Waste Management Act (WMA) on the population covered by separate collection systems for packaging waste and submission of false information in the audit report.

For these violations, the WMA foresees a fine of 10 to 150 thousand BGN.

The MOEW will continue to exercise control over organizations for recovery of mass waste and persons who individually fulfil their obligations. Administrative punitive measures and actions under the WMA will be imposed in case of violations.
